Alliance Modes
When setting up a game, you can choose from one of three alliance modes:
Icon | Notes |
---|---|
No alliances All out war, everyone is your enemy.
| |
Dynamic alliances Players can choose to create or break alliances at any time during the game.
Note: If one of your allies survives, they might be able to revive you by donating a truck, but even if your alliance then wins the game you won't be considered a winner because you had already been defeated. | |
Fixed teams Players are put in to fixed teams that cannot change during the game.
Note: An ally can revive you by donating a truck if you get killed. If your alliance then goes on to win the game you will be treated as a winner – there's no "I" in "team" |
Dynamic Alliances
When dynamic alliance mode is active, players can change alliance with other players at any time during the game.
Click on the Intelligence icon to list all players:
You can then use the following buttons to change alliance settings...
Button | Notes |
---|---|
Offer alliance An offer to form an alliance will be sent to the associated player. | |
Accept alliance request Accept an offer from another player and be allied with them. | |
Break alliance Reject an offer from another player and be enemies with them. |
For developers
Developers can implement alliances using the following features:
- alliancesType – defines whether the game is NO_ALLIANCES, ALLIANCES or ALLIANCES_TEAMS mode
- setAlliance() – make or break an alliance with another player
- allianceExistsBetween() – determine if an alliance exists between two players
- playerData[] – find out what teams players are in
To modify victory conditions, based on alliance type, see Victory Conditions.
To change the button images, see: Images, Icons & Cursors.
