Creating Computer Voices

Overview

Some useful links to text-to-speech systems that let you quickly create computer voice audio.

There's been several discussions about generating computer voices in the main Warzone forums, most notably Creating Custom Audio Files and Putting a face to the female voice.

I've compiled a list of the links below:

  • Oddcast TTS – suggested by iap, this is the best TTS I've found so far
     
  • iPhone Voices app – there's an app for that!
  • Mary TTS – suggested by Rman Virgil
  • Festival (try it) – suggested by Emdek
  • cServer – there's a small text box at the very top of that page to generate audio
  • iPhone's Siri – you can make Siri speak text, but not yet sure how to record it
