This tag let's you make enclosed text look like a keyboard key.
An example can be seen in Zarel's post about Warzone 2.3.
This tag lets you display an image in your forum post (you can also do this with attachment inlining - see later):
Would display:
If you attach an image to a forum post, you can use the [attachment] tag to display it in your post...
You can attach files to a forum post whilst you're writing it using the Upload tab below the main edit box:
Note: You can only upload certain types of file. If the forum rejects your file, you'll have to .zip it and try again.
After you click "Add the file" it will be added to the forum post and you'll see a new panel appear under the main edit box that looks like this:
Not only does this confirm that the file has been uploaded successfully, but it also gives you the option "Place inline" and this is what generates the [attachment] tag for you, in the example above it looks like this:
The first attachment is number 0, then 1 then 2, etc. It's best to always use the "Place inline" button though, as that works out the number for you.
And when the forum topic is displayed it turns in to this:
This is a great way to showcase images, because the image will usually be resized and it shows people how big it is before they click to view the full size image. It also keeps track of how many people have viewed it.
You can also place inline links to mods and maps and anything else you upload as an attachment.
These tags let you create bulleted and numbered lists in the forum.
A bullet list works like this:
You can also do numbered lists. Specifying "a", "1" or "I" determines what sort of numbering system to use:
a. Item 1
b. Item 2
- Item 1
- Item 2
i. Item I
ii. Item II
You can also use the [list] tag, without the [*] tags, to indent text:
Some normal text
Indented text
More normal text
You can just paste a URL in to the forums and it will become a hyperlink when your post is viewed, but it will often look ugly - the forum will often truncate it in undesirable ways.
That's what the [url] tag is for – it lets you create a nicer-looking link within forum posts:
Would display: Warzone Encyclopaedia
Note that you can't use this tag in your forum signature, but you can link to forum topics in your sig using the [forum] tag...
This tag hides its content and displays a "Spoiler" button - when the button is pressed, the content is shown. It's useful if you want to hide a chunk of content that most people will want to skip, such as old content or reference material to your main post content.
This tag works in a similar way to the [url] tag, but it only works for linking to forum topics:
The tag is useful if you want to put links in your forums signature, for example to a topic where you showcase your maps/mods or to an FAQ that you regularly point people to.
